Claire O'Connor
Claire O’Connor, also known as Clár Ní Conchúbhair, is a camogie player from Wexford, Ireland. Born on 29 December 1980, she played as corner back for Rathnure and for the Wexford county team. She helped Wexford win the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship in 2007, 2010 and 2011, and she also has a senior club All-Ireland title and a minor All-Ireland title from 1995. O’Connor won All-Star awards in 2010 and 2011 and was part of the 2011 Team of the Championship. Fluent in Irish, she has appeared on TG4’s Seó Spóirt analysis panel and for Radio na Gaeltachta. In 2022 she acted in the Irish film Róise and Frank. O’Connor is a primary school teacher and has two children. She comes from a camogie family: her father Teddy O’Connor won an All-Ireland with Wexford in 1968, her mother Ann also played county camogie, her sister Aoife captained the 2010 team and is married to Declan Ruth, and sisters Niamh, Ciara and Eimear have National League medals as well.
