The Doors of Perception (album)
The Doors of Perception is a live jazz album by American vibraphonist Dave Pike. It was recorded on September 28, 1966, at The Village Gate in New York City and released in 1970 by the Vortex label. The album runs 27 minutes and 11 seconds and was produced by Herbie Mann and Dave Pike. All compositions are by Dave Pike. The AllMusic review gave the album 3.5 stars, calling it Pike’s version of an acid experiment; though brief, it leaves a lasting impression and may appeal especially to listeners who enjoyed his early German MPS-era releases.
