Civil Hospital Battery

Civil Hospital Battery was an artillery battery in Gibraltar, part of its fortifications. It was located on the slopes south of the Moorish Castle, well away from Gibraltar Harbour. In 1859 it had six guns and was considered a "retired" battery. Its elevated position gave the gunners better visibility and greater range. Coordinates: 36°08′27″N 5°21′06″W. It was owned by the Ministry of Defence.
