Chris Massey (Christopher Todd Massey), born November 21, 1979, in Chesapeake, West Virginia, is a former NFL long snapper. He played college football at Marshall, where he started at long snapper for four years, never missing a snap, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2001 and a master’s in Sports Administration in 2009. Massey was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL draft (243rd overall) and spent most of his career with the Rams from 2002 to 2010. He appeared in 141 NFL games, recording 31 tackles and 2 fumble recoveries, and he completed 702 of 703 snaps, including a streak of 528 consecutive clean snaps. He was released by the Rams on August 22, 2011, briefly spent time with the Carolina Panthers in 2011 (signed August 27, waived August 30), and then joined the Chicago Bears on November 24 to replace the injured Patrick Mannelly after rupturing his ACL in a game against the San Diego Chargers on November 20, ending his season.
