Chigozie Nwaneri
Chigozie Nwaneri (born 24 February 1977) is a Nigerian politician and the Chief Whip of the Imo State House of Assembly, representing Oru East. He studied at Imo State University in Owerri. He was re-elected in March 2023 to a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC). In 2019, he won the Oru East seat under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and served as Majority Leader. He has held several leadership roles, including chairman of the House Committee on Works, chairman of Public Accounts, vice chairman of the Local Government and Chieftaincy Committee, and Leader of the Orlu Caucus in the 9th Assembly. He has spoken about environmental issues, noting rivers are being polluted, and he introduced a Bill on Clean Water Supply in Imo that reached its second reading. He is a Christian.
