Charles Stanley Witkowski (March 4, 1907 – June 1, 1993) was the 34th mayor of Jersey City, serving from May 21, 1957, to June 30, 1960. He was born in Jersey City to Polish immigrant parents, Blanche and Joseph Witkowski. He became Police Commissioner in 1949 as part of the independent Freedom Ticket that helped John V. Kenny win the mayor’s race. He lost his first bid for mayor in 1953 but won in 1957 and served one term.

Witkowski went to Villanova University, where he played football and was named an All-American tackle. He earned a law degree from John Marshall Law School (now Seton Hall University School of Law).

He died of a heart attack on June 1, 1993, at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan, New York City. He was married to Florence Witkowski and had three children. His grandsons include actors Jerry O’Connell and Charlie O’Connell. He lived in Jersey City.
