Chakkikotha Chankaran
Chakkikotha Chankaran is a 1989 Malayalam-language comedy film directed by Krishnakumar, starring Jayaram and Urvashi. It is a remake of the Tamil film Enga Veetu Ramayanam and was later remade in Kannada as Mana Mecchida Sose.
The story centers on two brothers, Prabhakaran and Pradeep, whose parents want them to marry and have grandchildren. Prabhakaran, who dreams of becoming a mridangam player, finally agrees to marry Shailaja after pressure from their mother Subhadra. Shailaja is a skilled Karate practitioner, and after their marriage she proves her strength when trouble arises during a trip to the movies. Meanwhile, Pradeep secretly marries Roshini, who is Shailaja’s old friend, and moves into the family home.
Prabhakaran tries to frame Roshini as a thief to get her kicked out, but the plan backfires and he is arrested, then released when the real thief confesses. In the climax, Roshini is kidnapped by a stalker and Pradeep attempts to rescue her. The family goes to the police station to help, and a battle with the criminals ensues. Shailaja uses her karate to overpower the goons, a bomb goes off at the police station, but the family escapes unharmed.
