Cerconota achatina
Cerconota achatina is a small moth in the Depressariidae family. It can be found in Colombia, Guyana, and French Guiana. The wingspan is about 16–17 millimeters.
Front wings: dark purple-brown with a pale yellowish edge along the front half. There is a darker patch on the lower part of the wing that extends about halfway across. A long, triangular dark reddish-brown patch runs along the front edge from before the middle toward the tip, about a quarter of the wing width. There are dark spots, with one near the lower patch and another forming a small oval. A pale yellowish area touches the front patch and sends a dark shade toward the lower edge, with two faint pale lines nearby. A fine dark line runs along the outer edge of the wing.
Hind wings: pale yellowish with a grey tint, lighter in males and darker grey in females.
This species has been described under a few other names: Cryptolechia achatina, Stenoma lembifera, and Stenoma punicea.
