Cecil John Burditt Wood (1875–1960) was an English cricketer who played for Leicestershire and London County from 1896 to 1923. He was a right-handed opening batsman who scored 23,879 runs in 456 matches, averaging 31.05, with 37 centuries and a top score of 225. He also bowled right-arm slow, taking 172 wickets, and he held 180 catches in the field. He is famous for carrying his bat through both innings in a 1911 match against Yorkshire. He scored 1,000+ runs in 13 seasons and over 2,000 runs in 1901. He captained Leicestershire and later served as secretary in 1940–41. Outside cricket, he was a coal merchant and also played football for Leicester Fosse and Ashford United. He died in Leicester in 1960, aged 84.
