Calliphara is a genus of jewel bugs, also known as shield-backed bugs, in the family Scutelleridae. One species in this genus is Calliphara regalis. The genus is found across parts of Asia and Oceania, including China, the Philippines, Queensland (Australia), and New Guinea. Historically, Calliphara has been called by several other names: Chrysophara, Lamprophara, Philia, and Schioedtea. Taxonomically, it belongs to: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum Arthropoda; Class Insecta; Order Hemiptera; Suborder Heteroptera; Family Scutelleridae; Tribe Scutellerini.
