Cœur de verre is the debut studio album by French singer Hélène Ségara, released in 1996 after her breakout single “Je vous aime adieu.” The eight-track album was mainly written by composer Christian Loigerot, with contributions from Phil Barney on “Vivre dans l’éternité” and the Nacash brothers on “Les Vallées d’Irlande.” The song “Une Voix dans la nuit” borrows from Donna Summer’s “On the Radio.”

Chart performance
Although the album came out in 1996, it first charted in France about two years later. It entered the French Albums Chart on 1 October 1998 and eventually peaked at number 6 in February 1999. It stayed in the top 50 for many weeks and remained on the chart for 56 weeks total, earning Platinum status. The album also spent 26 weeks on the Belgian (Wallonia) Ultratop Albums Chart, peaking at number 12.

Cœur de verre helped establish Ségara in French pop music and laid the groundwork for her later success.
