Buxton Hospital
Buxton Hospital is a small local hospital in Buxton, Derbyshire, England. It is run by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust. The foundation stone was laid by the Duke of Devonshire in June 1911, and the hospital opened in 1912 as Buxton Cottage Hospital. In 1930 it became Buxton and District Hospital, and in 1948 it joined the National Health Service as Buxton Hospital. It has a minor injuries unit. In April 2011, its opening hours were cut due to staff shortages, but normal hours returned in August 2011. In 2020 the minor injuries unit was relaunched as an urgent treatment centre.
