Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga (B.S.C.L.), known locally as the Bannakaroli Brothers, are a Catholic group of religious brothers founded in Uganda in 1927. They focus on caring for and educating young people, and today they also help children affected by HIV/AIDS or who are orphans because of HIV/AIDS. They follow Ignatian spirituality. The order was started by Bishop Henri Streicher, the first Vicar Apostolic of Uganda, to support the church’s mission by educating boys. The brothers set up their motherhouse in Kiteredde, Uganda, and began schools for primary and secondary education and vocational training. They now operate in Uganda and also have missions in Kenya and Tanzania.
