Britannica International School Budapest is a British international school in Budapest, Hungary. Founded in 1994, it is the longest-established British school in the country. The curriculum follows an enhanced English National Curriculum, preparing students for IGCSE at 16 and A Levels at 17–18, with a strong international focus. The school serves about 480 pupils aged 5 to 18 from around 60 nationalities and is located in District XII (Buda Hills) at Kakukk út 1-3. The principal is Neil McGarry, who has led schools in the UK and Europe. It is part of the Orbital Education group, which runs 12 schools worldwide. Facilities include a 250-seat theatre, library, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, an indoor swimming pool, science labs, art and music rooms, and air-conditioned classrooms with smartboards. Britannica is a Cambridge International Examination center and has strong results, with around 53% of iGCSEs achieving A or A*, and 85% achieving A* to C; students have also won Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards and Pearson Edexcel Outstanding Learner Awards. The school’s motto is Inspire · Excel · Exceed.
