Sant Antoni de Portmany, usually called Sant Antoni, is a town on the west coast of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands, Spain. It sits by Sant Antoni Bay and is the island’s second-largest town.

Long ago it was a small fishing village built around the natural harbor known as Portus Magnus. It began to grow in the late 1950s when many hotels and tourist resorts were built as part of Spain’s mass tourism.

As hotels spread along the bay, the town expanded toward Cala de Bou in the nearby Sant Josep de sa Talaia. Since the 1980s, British visitors have formed a large part of the summer crowd.

A famous statue, The Egg, sits by the harbor. It’s an egg-shaped sculpture with a model of Columbus’s ship inside, celebrating a local claim that Christopher Columbus was born there.

Passeig de ses Fonts is a popular harbourside promenade with palm trees, fountains, and many restaurants and cafés overlooking the bay. It’s a great place to watch the Saint Bartholomew fireworks on August 24.

The West End is Sant Antoni’s lively nightlife area on a narrow stretch of streets around Carrer de Santa Agnès, with bars playing everything from Ibiza’s dance music to rock and indie.

Along the coast, the Sunset Strip along the bay is famous for sunset watching at bars like Café del Mar and Café Mambo, where world‑famous DJs often perform.

The harbor also has ferries and boats that link to beaches in the area, and a weekly ferry to Formentera in season.
