Bozidar Brazda
Bozidar Brazda, born in 1972 in Cambridge, Canada, is a Canadian-born artist who lives in New York City. He comes from a family of artists and writers—his father is folk musician Andrew Brazda and his grandfather was journalist Andrej Brázda-Jankovský. Brazda has shown work at major museums such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and MoMA. He also performs in a post-punk band called Diet Choke with Ruby Aldridge and Shawn Kuruneru. In 2023 he co-wrote the track “Bad Days” with Julian Casablancas and Promiseland. His artwork includes silk screen prints, wall texts, silicone rubber on canvas, and audio recordings. Recently, his work has moved from narrative East/West installations to a minimalist Pop Art style that explores the edges of popular culture. He has exhibited at venues including the Whitney, MoMA PS1, The Kitchen, David Zwirner, Reena Spaulings, and Martos. His work has appeared in Artforum, Flash Art, artnet, The New York Times, Architectural Digest (France), Art in America, Interview Magazine, Vogue.com, and Maximum Rock N Roll.
