Born to Die Tour
Born to Die Tour was Lana Del Rey's first major world tour, in support of her second album, Born to Die (2012). It ran from November 4, 2011, to September 25, 2012, visiting Europe, North America and Australia for a total of 40 shows (24 in Europe, 9 in North America, 6 in Australia). The tour began in Manchester, England and ended in London, England. Opening acts included Jake Bugg, Jarrod Gorbel, Zach Heckendorf, Zebra Katz, Vince Kidd, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Seye, Oliver Tank, and Woodkid.
Background: Del Rey's debut album, Lana Del Rey (2010), was released on an independent label and later pulled from stores after the label went bankrupt. She released Born to Die in 2012 through Interscope and Polydor. The Born to Die Tour was announced in August–September 2011 as four small shows; they sold out quickly, so more dates and larger venues were added. A secret show at Glasslands Gallery, titled "Queen of Coney Island," was held on September 14, 2011. After the album’s release, she updated the setlist to include more previously unreleased songs. The Born to Die Tour sits between her 2011–12 touring and the Paradise Tour (2013–14) in her concert chronology.
