Bongiwe Mbinqo-Gigaba

Bongiwe Mbinqo-Gigaba is a South African politician from the African National Congress (ANC). She has worked at both provincial and national levels.

- Provincial politics: She entered the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature in 2009 and was re-elected in 2014. She served as the Northern Cape MEC for Sports, Arts and Culture from March 2016 to May 2017, then briefly headed Public Works in May 2017, before returning in June 2017 as MEC for Sports, Arts and Culture. She was the province’s youngest MEC and also served as the provincial chairperson of the ANC Youth League.

- National politics: In 2019 she was elected to the National Assembly and served as the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Basic Education from July 2019 until May 2024. She did not stand for reelection in the 2024 general election.
