Black House (film)
Black House (Korean: 검은 집) is a 2007 South Korean horror film directed by Shin Tae-ra, based on the Japanese novel The Black House by Yusuke Kishi. The story follows Jeon Joon-oh, a new life-insurance investigator. On his first day, he learns a policy might be paid out if someone in a family commits suicide. He’s then sent to investigate a case where a son is found dead by hanging after a family request for the policy money. As the father pressures him for the payout and the coroner’s report is delayed, Joon-oh’s nerves tighten. The father keeps coming back, and eventually the boss approves the payout. Joon-oh’s life begins to unravel as he is stalked, suggesting there are darker, hidden secrets within the family. Starring Hwang Jung-min, Yoo Sun, and Kang Shin-il, the film runs 104 minutes.
