Bitter Betty
Bitter Betty is the stage name of Sara Andrews, an American drag performer. She was born December 30, 1980, in Cookeville, Tennessee, and is based in Los Angeles. She competed on season 4 of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula and finished seventh.
She had a difficult childhood: she was raised in an orphanage from ages 10 to 18 after her mother fired gunshots at her lover's house, and she spent time in foster care.
In 1998 she moved to Nashville, performing at The Connection and Play Dance Bar for about 10–15 years. She met her husband in Nashville in 2012; they later lived in Orlando, Chicago, and finally Los Angeles. She credits her drag mothers as Danielle de la Fontaine and Austria Andrews. She started a wig-styling business, Wig Takeout, in 2017. She married Taylor Andrews in 2016. In Dragula Season 4 she placed seventh. In 2022, Screen Rant noted she was the first openly accepted MTF transgender person on a U.S. drag show with no controversy. She uses she/her pronouns.
