Karnataka is a state in India with rich natural heritage. It covers about 192,000 square kilometres. About 37,550 square kilometres of land are forests (roughly 19.6%). The state has 5 tiger reserves, 30 wildlife sanctuaries, and 15 conservation reserves. There are several Protected Areas for birds in Karnataka to protect and preserve bird life.
