Benoit Benjamin
Benoit Benjamin is a former American basketball player who was born on November 22, 1964, in Monroe, Louisiana. He is 7 feet tall and played as a center. He attended Creighton University from 1982 to 1985 and was chosen in the 1985 NBA draft as the 3rd overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Benjamin played in the NBA from 1985 to 1999 for several teams, including the Clippers, Seattle SuperSonics, Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey Nets, Vancouver Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He also had short stints in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) with the Yakima Sun Kings and Grand Rapids Hoops.
His best season came in 1988–89 with the Clippers, when he averaged 16.4 points per game over 79 games. Over his NBA career, he scored 9,223 points (11.4 ppg), grabbed 6,063 rebounds (7.5 rpg), and handed out 1,070 assists (1.3 apg). He also blocked 1,581 shots and had a field goal percentage of .541.
Benjamin is the Clippers’ career leader in blocks per game, averaging 2.75 per game. His daughter, Khaalia Hillsman, played college basketball at Texas A&M.
