Becoming Redwood is a 2012 Canadian film written and directed by Jesse James Miller. It stars 11-year-old Redwood (Ryan Grantham) alongside Jennifer Copping and Chad Willett.

Plot
Redwood believes he can bring his parents back together by beating golf legend Jack Nicklaus at the 1975 Masters. His bold plan drives the story, blending childhood imagination with real-life challenges.

Style and reception
Critic Robert Bell says the film features constant nods to Wes Anderson. The movie premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival on October 11, 2012, and runs 99 minutes.

Production
Produced by Storylab Productions, the film also credits David Crone (cinematography), Charlie Renfrew (editing), and Schaun Tozer (music). Joely Collins and Chad Willett produced the project.

Awards and nominations
Becoming Redwood won the Most Popular Canadian Film award at VIFF 2012 and received an honorable mention from the Best Canadian Film jury. It was also nominated for Best British Columbia Film at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards 2012.
