Ayumu Sasaki is a Japanese motorcycle racer born on October 4, 2000, in Yokosuka, Japan. He currently competes in the Moto2 World Championship for RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP, riding with the number 71.

Sasaki’s career began with success in the junior classes. He won the Asia Talent Cup in 2015 and competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup the same year, taking a Silverstone win and several podiums. In 2016 he dominated the Rookies Cup again, winning the title with many podiums.

He moved to the Moto3 World Championship in 2016 with Gresini Racing as a replacement rider. Over the next several years he raced for Sepang Racing Team, KTM Tech3, Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max, and Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP, earning a number of top-ten finishes and a pole position. His best overall year in Moto3 came in 2023 when he finished as the runner-up in the championship behind Jaume Masià.

In 2024, Sasaki stepped up to the Moto2 class with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team, partnering with Jeremy Alcoba. After that team left the championship, he signed a two-year contract to race for RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP starting in 2025. As of now, he has not yet won a Moto2 race.
