Aurora Peak

Aurora Peak is a mountain in East Antarctica. It rises to 535 metres (1,755 feet) and lies on the west side of the Mertz Glacier, about 6 kilometres south of Mount Murchison in George V Land. Coordinates: 67°23′S 144°12′E. It was discovered by the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911–14) led by Douglas Mawson. The eastern coastal party—A. L. McLean, P. E. Correll, and C. T. Madigan—named it after the expedition ship Aurora.
