Attaqa Mountain Pumped Storage Power Plant
Attaqa Mountain Pumped Storage Power Plant is a new pumped-storage hydroelectric project being built in Suez, Egypt. It aims to have a total capacity of 2,400 MW and will help balance electricity supply by storing and releasing energy as needed.
Developed by PowerChina, the project is supported by a $2.6 billion loan from the Export-Import Bank of China. The loan’s terms, including interest rate, repayment period, and grace period, are still being negotiated. The plant is planned to be completed in 2024.
