Artyk, Turkmenistan
Artyk is a small village in Kaka District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. It sits on the Turkmen–Iran border at Lotfabad and is known mainly for the border crossing there, which handles freight and passenger traffic. The village lies at about 37.5548°N, 59.3257°E (37°33′17.28″N 59°19′32.5″E) and operates in the UTC+5 time zone. The name “Artyk” means "excess" in Turkmen and was the name of one of the area’s first settlers.
