Arthur Ingram, 3rd Viscount of Irvine
Arthur Ingram, 3rd Viscount of Irvine (25 January 1666 – 21 June 1702) was an English nobleman and politician. He served as Vice-Admiral of Yorkshire from 1692 to 1702, was Lord Lieutenant of the North Riding of Yorkshire from 1699 to 1702, and sat in Parliament as MP for Scarborough (1693–1701) and for Yorkshire (1701–1702).
He was the younger son of Henry Ingram, 1st Viscount of Irvine, and Lady Essex Montagu. His older brother Edward became the 2nd Viscount as a child when their father died, but Edward died in 1688, so Arthur inherited the titles.
In October 1685, at the age of 19, Arthur married Isabella Machell (1670–1764) in London. Isabella was the daughter of John Machell of Hills Place. They had nine sons, all of whom were heirs to the Viscountcy.
Arthur drew up his will on 12 June 1702, leaving half of his estate to Isabella and £2000 in trust for his younger sons, with Isabella to be their guardian.
He died on 21 June 1702 and was buried at Whitkirk on 8 July 1702. His widow Isabella outlived all her sons, dying in 1764 at age 94.
Portraits connected with the family are kept at Temple Newsam, including a portrait of Arthur and a portrait of Isabella.
