Arborio, Piedmont
Arborio is a small town (comune) in the Province of Vercelli, in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. It lies about 70 kilometers northeast of Turin and about 20 kilometers north of Vercelli. The town covers around 23 square kilometers and sits at about 185 meters above sea level. As of 2004, roughly 1,035 people lived there.
Arborio borders Ghislarengo, Greggio, Landiona, Recetto, Rovasenda, San Giacomo Vercellese, Sillavengo, Vicolungo, and Villarboit. The town is famous for giving its name to Arborio rice, a variety commonly used to make risotto.
