Aragón (river)
Aragón is a river in northern Spain. It is a left-hand tributary of the Ebro River. The river starts in the central Pyrenees at Astún in Huesca province and flows southwest through Jaca and Sangüesa (Navarre) before joining the Ebro at Milagro, near Tudela. The Aragón is about 129 kilometers long. Its main tributary is the Arga River. The river is used for irrigation and to generate hydroelectric power. The name Aragón comes from the area where the old kingdom began, which is now the Aragón autonomous community. Since around 2003, beavers have appeared in the lower Aragón and along the nearby Ebro, leaving signs of their activity on a stretch of about 60 kilometers.
