Antonio Belo
Antonio Belo y Villaruz (January 11, 1877 – 1944) was a Filipino lawyer and politician. He was born in Panay, Capiz, and earned a Bachelor of Arts and a law degree. Belo worked as a lawyer and held several local roles, including municipal councilor of Romblon and Justice of the Peace of Capiz, as well as serving as a law clerk in the House of Representatives. He was a representative for Capiz’s 1st district from 1916 to 1919. Later, he was elected Senator for the 7th District (Iloilo, Capiz, Romblon) and served from 1928 to 1934. He belonged to the Nacionalista Party. Belo died in 1944 at about 66 or 67 years old.
