Another Lifetime (album)
Another Lifetime is a studio album by drummer Cindy Blackman, released in 2010 on the 4Q label. It was recorded from 2005 to 2009 at various studios. The album pays homage to Tony Williams Lifetime and features a strong guest lineup: guitarists Fionn O Lochlainn, Mike Stern, and Vernon Reid; saxophonist Joe Lovano; keyboardists Doug Carn, Patrice Rushen, and Carlton Holmes; and bassists Benny Rietveld and David Santos. Blackman produced the project herself, and the album runs about 55 minutes.
Critics praised the album as a heartfelt tribute with an energetic, modern approach to jazz fusion. They highlighted Blackman’s driving, tasteful drumming and the cohesive yet varied performances, noting the music remains powerful and engaging throughout.
