Anna Myrberg (born in Norberg, May 9, 1878 – died in Stockholm, April 1, 1931) was a Swedish writer and song lyricist. She wrote under the pen name Svarta Masken, The Black Mask. After training as a photoengraver, she worked at a photo studio and for a Stockholm newspaper. Her first poetry book appeared in 1919, Svarta Maskens Dårdikter (The Black Mask’s Idiot Poems). She published more poetry and humor, including two books about Willy Anderson, a boy from southern Stockholm; the second book became the 1929 film Ville Andesons Äventyr (Willy Anderson’s Adventure). She also contributed to Kasper, a humor magazine. Myrberg wrote lyrics for popular songs such as Lördagsvalsen (The Saturday Waltz) and Livet i Finnskogarna (Life in the Finnish Woods). Her works were recorded in America by Gustav Fonandern, Arvid Franzen, Olle i Gråthult and the Hjalmar Peterson Orchestra, and Hjalmar Peterson published her texts in his songbooks. In 1972 John Harryson released an album of old Swedish comedy that included three Svarta Masken songs: Bröllopet i Flänga, Lördagsvalsen and Stora fötter.
