Andy Black (Andrew Black) was a Scottish footballer who played as an inside forward. He was born on 23 September 1917 in Stirling, Scotland, and died on 16 October 1989 in Bannockburn, Scotland, aged 72. He stood 5 ft 11 in tall.

Club career:
- Early years at Shawfield before joining Hearts (Heart of Midlothian), where he became a prolific scorer. He had 29 goals in 34 games in 1936–37 and 40 goals in 38 appearances in 1937–38, finishing as the Scottish League’s top scorer that season. He is sometimes credited as the first Hearts player to score a hat-trick against Rangers at Ibrox, though that claim is disputed.
- International play included three official Scotland caps (3 goals), wartime Scotland appearances, and two caps for the Scottish Football League XI.
- After the war, he moved to Manchester City (1946–1950), making 139 appearances and scoring 47 goals. One famous moment at Maine Road saw him head a clearance from inside his own half over goalkeeper Sam Bartram.
- He finished his career with Stockport County (1950–1953). He also played as a guest for Chester during the wartime period.
