Andrew Beckwith
Andrew Beckwith (born March 22, 1995) is a former American professional baseball pitcher from Blythewood, South Carolina. He played at Blythewood High School and Coastal Carolina University, where he excelled in 2016, earning Big South Pitcher of the Year. In the 2016 College World Series, he started three games, allowed only two earned runs in 23 2/3 innings, and was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player. That season he went 15–1 with a 1.85 ERA in 117 innings.
Beckwith continued with Coastal Carolina as a reliever in his senior year. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 32nd round of the 2017 MLB draft and played in their minor league system that year, with AZL Royals and Idaho Falls Chukars, going 1–0 with a 3.29 ERA in 16 games. In 2019 he played for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and Wilmington Blue Rocks, posting a 4–0 record with a 4.58 ERA, 45 strikeouts and 2 saves in 53 innings. He retired from professional baseball on March 3, 2020.
