North Ossetian State University named after K. L. Khetagurov (NOSU) is a public research university in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia–Alania, Russia. It was founded in 1920 and is named after the poet Kosta Levanovich Khetagurov. The university’s goals are education, cooperation, and innovation.

Since 2000, NOSU has developed international partnerships. It has worked with the European Commission, the United Nations, and programs connected to Stanford University. More than 500 students and faculty have taken part in international conferences, workshops, and exchange programs such as USAID, IREX, DAAD, Fulbright, Tempus, and Copernicus.

NOSU has two academic buildings in different parts of the city and two dormitories that can accommodate about 300 students. The rector, Alan Ogoev, says the university plans to build a new dormitory with 500 seats to welcome more foreign students.
