All Saints High School (Hyderabad)

All Saints High School, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is a Roman Catholic minority school established in 1855. It teaches lower kindergarten through 10th grade. The school’s motto is Virtue Alone Ennobles, and the current headmaster is Rev. Bro. Vincent Mendonza.

Founding and early years: The school was founded in 1855 by Rt. Rev. Daniel Murphy, the Vicar Apostolic of Hyderabad, at the request of the Nizam. The first rector was Rev. Mgr. Caproti in 1858. In 1932, the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel took over management, with Rev. Bro. Rosius as the first Brother Rector. In 1933, Rev. Bro. M. Paul became the first Indian rector and helped develop the school. After India’s independence in 1947, Rev. Bro. John of God served as rector.

Expansion and changes: To meet growing demand, four new schools were started between 1953 and 1955: St. Peter’s High School (now housing the primary sections), St. Mark’s Boys Town High School, Little Flower High School, and St. Paul’s High School. All Saints’ was an all-boys school until 1996, when it became co-educational. In 2011-2012, the kindergarten was renamed All Saints’ Preparatory School.

2018 fire: A minor fire occurred on campus; seven children were admitted to hospital for breathing problems but were discharged the same day. There were no injuries or deaths.
