Ali Asqar Peyvandi
Ali Asghar Peyvandi (Persian: علیاصغر پیوندی; born 1962) is an Iranian doctor, politician and university professor. He led the Iranian Red Crescent Society from 2017 to 2019. He was forced to resign and later arrested on embezzlement charges. Peyvandi earned his general medical degree in 1989 and a 1993 degree in otorhinolaryngology from Shiraz University of Medical Science, and completed a surgery course in 2001 at the University of Graz.
