Alex Hendricks
Alex Hendricks, whose full name is Alexander William Hendricks, is an American cerebral palsy football player born on April 13, 1996, in Columbus, Ohio. He has paralysis on the left side of his body due to complications from a brain biopsy when he was 13 years old. He plays for the US 7-a-side national team (USPNT) as a CP7 goalkeeper and forward.
Hendricks started playing soccer at age 3 and later joined the national team in 2011. His notable achievements include a bronze medal at the 2012 BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester and a bronze at the 2014 American Cup in Toronto. He competed in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Paralympics, with the 2012 team finishing without a win and the 2016 team finishing with 1 win, 1 draw, and 2 losses. He attended Worthington Kilbourne High School in Columbus and studied computer science at Ashland University; his hobbies include reading and playing video games.
