Aleksandre Jejelava
Aleksandre Jejelava (Georgian: ალექსანდრე ჯეჯელავა) was Georgia’s Minister of Education and Science from June 3, 2016 to November 13, 2017. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister from February 21, 2017 to November 13, 2017. He was born in Tbilisi on May 24, 1973. He studied at Tbilisi State University, earning a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in 1995. He later earned a Master in General Management from ESM Business School (2003-2005) and a Master in Project Management from George Washington University (2009-2010). In 2015 he became a certified international coach. Before his ministerial roles, he led the Management Academy (2010-2016) and worked as a professor at several universities, including Bank of Georgia University, Caucasus School of Business, Tbilisi Free University, Caucasus University, and the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. He has held positions at Open Society Georgia Foundation, the National Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, and Intellect Bank, and he led IT strategy at the Georgian Lottery Company. He is married with four children.
