Albert Edward Harris (c. 1870 – 24 October 1933) was a British engineer and artist best known for painting the Newfoundland landscape. Born around 1870 in Oxford, England, he moved to Newfoundland in 1907. He worked for the Reid Group at a pulp mill in Bishop's Falls and later became Managing Director of the Anglo-Newfoundland Development Co. in Grand Falls. In 1929 he moved to Kent Cottage in Brigus, naming it after Kent County in England, and lived there until his death in 1933. Harris helped found The Newfoundland Society of Art in 1925, which promoted local art. The society ended in 1937 and was replaced by the St. John's Art Students Club. Harris died in Brigus on October 24, 1933; his remains were sent to England for burial. His artwork is in The Rooms, the art gallery in St. John's.
