Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi (Arabic: أحمد بن خليفة السويدي; born 15 December 1937) is an Emirati politician who became the United Arab Emirates' first Minister of Foreign Affairs, serving from 9 December 1971 to 20 November 1990. He also served as the president’s personal representative. Appointed at the country’s founding, he helped unite the UAE and was the first to read the founding declaration on 2 December 1971. Born in Abu Dhabi in the Trucial States (now the United Arab Emirates), he has a sister, Ousha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi. His tenure occurred under President Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, with Prime Ministers Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. He was the first to hold the post and was succeeded by Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi.
