Agony in the Garden with the Donor Louis I of Orléans

Agony in the Garden is a French painting made around 1405–1408. It is painted with tempera on a Baltic oak panel and measures about 59 cm by 43 cm. The work belongs to the international Gothic style and has been in the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid since May 2012, produced in Paris.

The artist is unknown, though Colart de Laon (active around 1377–1417) is a strong possibility. He was a painter and the valet de chambre to Louis I, Duke of Orléans, who is shown at the bottom left and is probably the donor or commissioner of the painting.
