After the Party is a 2007 non-fiction book by Andrew Feinstein, a former ANC Member of Parliament and documentary filmmaker from South Africa. It looks at corruption in the African National Congress (ANC) and the South African government during Thabo Mbeki’s presidency. Written from Feinstein’s insider perspective, the book argues that corruption grew and weakened state institutions, raising concerns about the future of South Africa’s democracy.

A central focus is the South African arms deal, used to illustrate the ANC’s internal decline. The book also discusses South Africa’s policy on Zimbabwe, HIV/AIDS denialism in the Mbeki era, the Jacob Zuma rape trial, and infighting inside the ANC. Feinstein ends with recommendations to improve governance, such as stronger ethical codes and greater transparency. He also suggests that the upcoming presidency of Jacob Zuma would not necessarily reduce corruption. A new edition was published in May 2009.
