Afolabi Fasogbon

Afolabi Fasogbon is an English rugby union player who helps Gloucester in the Premiership as a prop forward. Born on 24 August 2004 in Surrey to Nigerian parents from Lagos, he is tall and powerful on the field.

He started playing rugby at under-14 level, played for Saracens Amateur RFC, and joined the London Irish Academy at 15. He turned professional with London Irish for the 2022–23 season, making his debut in September 2022 in the Premiership Rugby Cup against Harlequins. He also spent time on loan with Esher and scored a try on his first-team debut for London Irish in October 2022 against Cinderford.

After London Irish entered administration in 2023, Fasogbon joined Gloucester in June 2023. While at Gloucester, he went on loan to Birmingham Moseley in National League One and made his Moseley debut on 17 February 2024 against Darlington Mowden Park.

Fasogbon is known for his confident style on the field, including moments like waving off England’s Ellis Genge when substituted and shushing Northampton Saints prop Tom West after winning a penalty.

Internationally, Fasogbon has represented England at youth levels. He earned an England U18 cap in 2021 against Italy. He played for England U20 in the 2023 Six Nations and scored a try against Italy; he helped England finish fourth at the 2023 World Rugby U20 Championship. He started in the 2024 Six Nations U20, which England won, and played in the final of the 2024 World Rugby U20 Championship as England beat France to become junior world champions.

In November 2024 he played for England A in a win over Australia A. In 2025 he was called up to a senior England training camp by head coach Steve Borthwick and was selected again for the England A squad in November 2025.
