Adam Małysz
Adam Henryk Małysz, born 3 December 1977 in Wisła, Poland, is a former ski jumper and rally driver. He competed in ski jumping from 1995 to 2011 and became one of the sport’s greatest stars. Małysz won four World Cup titles (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2007) and was the first man to win three World Cup titles in a row. He also won the Four Hills Tournament once and the Nordic Tournament three times, with 39 individual World Cup wins and 96 World Cup podium finishes. He held the ski flying distance record of 225 meters at Planica. He earned four Olympic medals and four World Championship gold medals. He won the Holmenkollen Ski Festival five times.
After retirement, he tried rally driving, competing in the Dakar Rally from 2012 to 2014, with his best finish a 13th place in 2014. He later held leadership roles in the Polish Ski Federation and became its CEO in 2022. Małysz is widely loved in Poland for his sporting success and his simple life motto: “Be good and that's it.”
