Abrams Battle Tank

Abrams Battle Tank is a 1988 MS-DOS game by Dynamix that simulates the M1 Abrams tank in 3D. Players command a four-person crew through arcade-style missions with a fixed sequence of tasks. Damon Slye designed the game. In 1991, Realtime Games Software released a Sega Genesis version called M-1 Abrams Battle Tank, using a tweaked 3D engine borrowed from Carrier Command. Reviews were mixed: Dragon gave the MS-DOS version 3/5; Computer Gaming World gave 2.5/5, calling it a good game but a poor simulation and criticizing the commanding officer’s briefings as unprofessional. A 1994 wargames survey gave it 2/5, saying newer games had surpassed it and that it only simulated a single tank rather than a group. Compute! found it not very realistic but noted its graphics and tactical depth. PC Gamer US named it the 50th best computer game ever in 1994.
