Abdelkader Guerroudj was an Algerian born on 26 July 1928 in Tlemcen. He worked as a political officer for the Algerian Communist Party and served as a link between the Communist Combattants de la Libération and the FLN during the fight for independence.

In December 1957, he and his French wife, Jacqueline Guerroudj, were sentenced to death as accomplices of Fernand Iveton, the only European executed for involvement in the revolt. A big campaign in France, known as L'Affaire Guerroudj, led to their sentences being changed and they were not executed.

Guerroudj's stepdaughter, Danièle Minne, was also punished: on 4 December 1957 she was sentenced to seven years in prison for her part in the revolt.

A statement he gave to the court suggested that after independence Algeria would need help from France—technicians, doctors, professors and other professionals—and that friendship between the two countries would benefit both.

Abdelkader Guerroudj died on 7 November 2020 at the age of 92.
