Abd Dhiyab al-Ajili (also spelled Abid Thiyab Al-Ajeeli; born 1950) is an Iraqi politician who served as the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq’s government led by Nouri al-Maliki. He was elected as a member of the Sunni Arab-majority Iraqi Accord Front and is a member of the Iraqi Islamic Party. In November 2006, he temporarily resigned from the government in protest after staff from the ministry were mass abducted by people in police uniforms. He studied operations research at the University of Southampton, earning a BSc in 1976 and an MSc in 1977, and he earned his PhD from Keele University in 1990.
