AMZ Bóbr-3 is a Polish wheeled amphibious armored reconnaissance vehicle. It was developed to modernize Poland’s light armored reconnaissance fleet under the LOTR program (Light Armored Reconnaissance Transporter), code-named Kleszcz. The project ran from 2013 to 2022 with funding from the National Centre for Research and Development and was led by AMZ-Kutno in cooperation with military research institutes.

The Bóbr-3 is part of Poland’s broader LOTR program to replace older BRDM-2 vehicles with more capable platforms. In August 2024, Poland’s Armaments Agency awarded AMZ-Kutno a contract to produce 28 LOTR 4x4 light armored reconnaissance vehicles for about 800 million PLN, with deliveries planned from 2026 to 2028. This contract fits into a larger framework to procure 286 LOTR vehicles through 2035. LOTR vehicles are amphibious, 4x4 off-road platforms designed to carry five reconnaissance soldiers and their gear, providing on-board fire support and the ability to engage low-flying air targets.
